Norwich Medics Football Club (NMFC):
We are Norwich Medics Football Club (NMFC), a friendly and sociable society for students and health professionals alike, and we would like to invite you – yes, you! - to come and share in the beautiful game with us.
Players of all abilities are welcome (whether you’re a Lionel Messi or a Robbie Savage) and as a club we strive to offer football to suit everyone’s wants and needs: If you fancy a competitive edge, our 11-a-side team compete in local amateur leagues and cups on Saturday afternoons. Opportunities to play (and smash) some of the UEA teams will be available.
For a more relaxed feel, we field several highly successful 6-a-side teams at the Sportspark on Sunday evenings. Playing against other student teams, this is the perfect opportunity to hone your tika-tika football / shake off those post-LCR hangovers (delete as appropriate). For a good run-around, training is every Wednesday from 6-8pm at the Sportspark. This mainly consists of a few light drills followed by some practice matches. Bring friends or whoever else you want along; this is all about burning off a few calories and having a fun time.
Now, onto the important bit: SOCIALS. We have plenty planned to take place throughout the year with welcome drinks, christmas curry and scavenger hunt all standout fixtures on the calendar. And for those who don’t fancy alcohol then not a problem! We also intend to host several non-drinking events, including Fifa night, so stay tuned for those! Last but not least, later this year we hope to take part in the legendary NAMS football tour, held this year in Nottingham. This is sure to be a memorable weekend that you do not want to miss! During freshers week we will be around campus, at the fairs and in your lectures so we'll be pretty hard to miss. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask us and we hope to see you on the football pitch soon!
