Norwich Undergraduate Surgical Society

As the second largest medical society at UEA and a partner of The Royal College of Surgeons of England, we aim to promote surgery and its subspecialties by hosting sessions that pertain to clinical skills, career development and lectures, which can deepen your understanding in surgery and build your resume for your time as a doctor.
For Freshers who would be joining us this year, the Surgical Society can give you opportunities to partake in:
• Beginners/advanced suturing courses taught by plastic surgeons.
• Mentor-mentee programme – A fantastic and unique opportunity which puts students in contact with surgeons of their chosen speciality to gain insight and build your portfolio.
• Teach suturing and laparoscopic skills to sixth form students.
• Talks and conferences e.g. Women in Surgery
Our society also hosts events specific to the medicine course such as peer-led revision sessions to pass OSCEs – perfect for all medical students, not just aspiring surgeons!
